Brian Melvin

Hi

Just thought I would pass on an update on Brian Melvin who up until recently was a member of GMC.
Following a recent accident with car towing a caravan Brian has been in hospital suffering from a broken leg (above the knee) , broken wrist and also a broken collar bone.
(His wife Carole was also on board but fortunately only suffered severe bruising)

He was initially in Dundee but has since been trnasferred to Glasgow (Ninewells) for an operation on his shoulder due to the possibility of nerve damage in this area.

To quote from the ADAM Forum (Grant Massie)

"I got a call this afternoon from Brian.
He is in Glasgow Hospital waiting for an operation on his shoulder which is scheduled for Wednesday.

If all goes well he should be back in Aberdeen (home or hospital) on Friday this week or Monday next week.

Brian would like to thank everyone for their best wishes and concern that has been shown to him and Carole since the accident."

Just thought there may be a few people who were not aware.

Thanks for the update,Allan, I've been following Brian's progress in the ADAM forum

since his "off day". There will be a few of us who are not aware.

Hopefully he'll be back in Aberdeen soon and fortunately Carole is OK.

Been advised this morning that Brian has had his shoulder operation but that initially it appears not to have been too successfull. He has not been moved to Aberdeen yet.
I will update as new information is made available to me.

Thanks again for the update Allan. We can only wish Brian a speedy recovery and hope that it'll be alright.

I popped in to see Brian during the week.

He is in good spirits but unfortunately the operation on his shoulder was not able to achieve its aim therefore , for the present time , Brian is unable to use his right shoulder/arm but has some use of his hand.
He is not able to continue motorcycling and has decided on a lifestyle change and has sold off his business to take a well earned early retirement and direct his energies in an alternative direction.

He is still recuperating at home and would welcome any visitors who wish to pay him a call.

The Wife and I were out on our bike on Sunday to the Scotish Pipe Band Champingships at Mintlaw.
We met Brian Melvin and Carol.

Brian and Carol had a bad bike crash a few months ago down Loch Rannoch way.

However Brian is walking well and hopes to dispose of the walking aid shortly, he is waiting to get a couple of operations on his arm. He looks is good health and is in great spirits.
