| With all this rain recently, I been getting water inside the C3 visor, in between the visor / pinlock insert and misting between the visor / pinlock insert.
A bit of research identified the pins that hold the pinlock insert have a cam action on them for tightening the inert against the visor - hasn't stopped the water getting into the visor but it has stopped the water and misting between the visor / pinlock insert.
If you already knew about this... if you didn't (like myself) I hope this helps.
Not sure if the water is getting past the visor seal or blowing up from the front vent, anybody had similar experience and solution? | |

| No pinlock on my Shuberth, I have to ride with it open a smidge all the time to prevent misting...ok in the dry, but a swimming pool in the wet & cold eyeballs a lot of the time. When closed, no leaks at all (& no airflow, hence the misting). But then, I have an S1, not a C3. The rubber seals are really good on mine... You could try spraying it while wearing it to see where the water first gets in...in the comfort of your own home of course (queue a picture of you riding along spraying your visor as you go.... ). | Pinlocks should be changed every two years, some last longer, some don't. Its depending if you have fitted them properly and what make they are, some are cheap and nasty, others work well and last a long time.

| Guys there is one simple answer. When you replace your helmet get a quality piece of kit SHOEI. It comes with a pin lock standard with no water leaks and no misting up. German technology... says it all Dave | |

| My Shoei Multitec is a flip-top and is great. The pinlock is now misting up a little bit as I've played around with it. The head size is an exceptionally good fit, for as well as the fitting size for shell the cheek pads can also be varied. KTROTR Dan | |

| I have a Multitec as well. Even with the leaking I prefer the Schuberth, why?
1) quieter so I can use 21 SNR earplugs instead of the more usual 35 - 37 SNR variety 2) I can hear other road users and the the autocom with 21 SNR earplugs 3) fits my head better 4) find the flip release easier to use with gloves 5) the anti-roll off straps make the helmet more secure on my head with out being tight 6) better ventilation therefore cooler in warmer weather 7) more room for the autocom speakers
All personal choices. | |
