| I'm not ususlly given to trumpet-blowing but I just thought I'd let those of you who are interested (and also any who are not!) know that I passed my IAM test yesterday - Steve Milne was the examiner - and unlike Steve F, I had an almost totally dry experience!! Like James Brown - I feel good | |

| Congratulations Fraser!
I remember it was very satisfying to pass as you are riding under pressure with a polisman looking at your every move and you do not want to fail!
You were lucky it was dry on Sunday, in the west we had continuous wind and heavy rain starting in Skye and clearing (the rain that is) just east of Fort Augustus. The roads were awash (like my gloves).

| Thanks guys.
I'll certainly be trying to, Bob - I also intend to keep up with the training.
Keith, I included the name of the examiner because I inferred, perhaps wrongly, that, because of a question asked in an earlier thread, there was some interest among club members in this information - I'm sorry if I've caused upset. I can't comment on the relative merits of examiners since I only have experience of one.

| Sorry Fraser - just a wind up - should have put smiley You know I like to wind Steve F up and thought he would take the bait first. No upset from me! Well done. | |

| OK, Keith, sorry - in spite of it being generally quite twisted, I must get some 'sense of humour' training!!!! | |

| I think it's important to mention their name. That way we all know who got the better looking one! Congrats though Fraser. Nice to have kind weather - I did mine in hail stone shower. | |

| Keith . If the club funds can stretch to a whistle for Peter I am sure we could manage a LARGE wooden spoon for you . ( not that you need it ) . In answer to your question is one examiner better than the other YES !! . Yours faithfully IAM Member Steve Farrell | |

| Thanks, Diane. Yep - I was lucky - rain threatened but never appeared. Dry weather certainly makes it easier to concentrate on the job in hand - no distraction from rain/hail bouncing off the visor or messing up the road!!
Are you implying that Keith is not good looking???!!!!

| If the club funds can stretch to a whistle for Peter
To quote Steve earlier. Did the club buy this whistle? What was the cost? Will the membership fees have to go up because of it? Was it approved at committee? Should such a large expenditure have gone before the A G M? Does it need a Health and safety check done? Has Peter been trained in it's use? Is it for use of all the Ride Marshal's? If so will it be sanitized between users?
So many questions with no answers.

So many questions with no answers. You know what they say about whistles, its all down to the size of your pea... As a committee member and soon to be ride marshall, I can neither confirm nor deny the existence of a club whistle, hi-vis vest or mandatory whistle training. To confirm such a thing might make me a WHISTLEBLOWER
