Alford Motorcycle convention

Hi folks Is the Club having a stand this year as i can not see anyting on the website or am i blind ???

If you read the committee minutes it will explain all. In the meantime the answer is that they are waiting for a reply from Alford.

Richard a better idea is to go to our web site and sign in then send a email to the secretary or the President or any of the committee and get it first hand, that's what they are there for. See you and the lovely Christine at the UCAN rally.

If GMC get enough volunteers for the 4th, it should go ahead.
Might be allocated a more central site this time.

We've got an e-mail telling us that we have 48 hours for the membership to volunteer to man the stand or the GMC won't be there!
So if the GMC now needs its members to do all the things for the GMC, what does the committee do?

And what are we all expected to do while "manning this stand"? We don't need to recruit members. Or do we?

In the past a few committee members happily set things up and provided a focal point for the club, and then through the day everyone mucked in when it suited them.
Can't we have that again committee?

We need a focal point for our members to enjoy the butteries and a cuppie.

Don't panic there will be a pitch at Alford same place as last year .
John Alexander has volunteered his van to get the kit out there and I have said I will lend a hand . Any hints and tips to aid us newbee's would be much appreciated .
Feel free to pop out and lend a hand if you fancy .

We are hoping to take a pop out if back in time from down south.

I E Mailed peter to say i would help as much as i can.

It takes 2 folk about 15 mins to put up the gazebo but they have to be early to clear the grounds of cars etc before the show starts. A few folding chairs are always welcome. See previous postings re food and kettle. A bowl of sweeties for passing kids is nice. Maybe a bit of paper with the GMC web address on. Someone willing to pack up the gazebo at the end and keep it for another year. And that's it. One our two members have had their bikes parked up alongside the tent and little kids like to sit on them.

I am off that sunday, will help with the tea, coffee & butteries Ill be the tea wifie for the day if no one else has booked that job ! & looking forward to it x
